Thorns of the Passion

Sunlit thorn branches stretch across the frame with sharp spines and small green leaves, presenting a close view of the plant imagery associated with suffering, curse, and redemption in Scripture. The thorns recall the ground cursed after the fall in Genesis, where thorns and thistles become signs of creation’s brokenness, and they also point forward to the crown of thorns placed on Jesus Christ before the crucifixion.
